Why watermark a PDF?
A watermark says what a document is before anyone reads it: a draft that isn't final, a confidential report, a sample that isn't the real thing.
On a copy of an ID or a passport, a line like "Only for the rental application, May 2026" makes the copy far less useful to anyone who shouldn't have it.
Once across the middle or tiled?
Once across the middle is the classic stamp: large, diagonal and easy to read, for drafts and confidential documents.
Tiled repeats the text in rows over the whole page, so no part of the page can be cropped out without it. Use it for ID and passport copies.

Can I write my own watermark text?
Yes. Type anything, including Turkish letters like Ğ, Ş and İ, or pick one of the suggestions.
Can the watermark be removed?
It's drawn on top of each page as text, so someone with a PDF editor could take it off. It marks a document clearly; it isn't a lock.
Should I watermark a copy of my ID?
It's a good idea. Write who it's for and the date, like "Only for XYZ Bank, 2026", and choose Tiled so it covers the whole page.
Will the text underneath still be readable?
Yes. The watermark is see-through; at the default strength the page reads normally. Make it stronger or fainter with the slider.
Can I watermark several PDFs at once?
