How to enhance a photo
Drop your photos into the box above, or click Choose files. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and HEIC work.
Keep 2× for most photos, or choose 4× for very small ones.
Click Enhance photos. The AI model (5 MB) is downloaded the first time and kept in your browser.
Drag the divider on each result to compare before and after, then download.
What the enhancer fixes
Compression leaves blocks and smudges, low resolution leaves jagged edges, and resizing leaves blur. The model has learned what real edges, hair, skin and fabric look like, and redraws them cleanly.
The result is also larger, so it holds up better as a profile picture, in a document, on a bigger screen or in print.
What it can't do
It can't bring back detail that isn't there: a face a few pixels wide or heavy motion blur won't turn into a sharp portrait, and the model may invent plausible texture. Check faces and text before you use the result.
It works best on photos that are small or compressed rather than out of focus.
Is it safe?
Yes. Photo Enhancer runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read and converted by your own device using built-in browser technology, so they are never uploaded to a server and nobody else can see them.
You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and convert a file. No upload requests are made.
Photos are enhanced in your browser and never uploaded.
Files stay in this tab's memory only until you remove them or close the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it fix a blurry photo?
It sharpens softness from low resolution and compression well. Strong focus or motion blur can't be undone; the result may look cleaner but not truly sharp.
Does it change faces?
It doesn't swap or beautify faces; it redraws edges and texture. On very small faces it has to guess, so look closely at the result.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The AI runs in your browser, on your graphics card where possible.
Which photos give the best results?
Small, compressed or old photos: thumbnails, pictures sent through messaging apps, screenshots of photos and early phone pictures. Large, sharp photos gain little.
What's the difference with the Image upscaler?
The same AI model. This page is for making photos look better; the Image upscaler is about making pictures bigger, for print or datasets.
