How to merge PDF files
Drop two or more PDF files into the box above, or click Choose files.
Put them in order with the arrows next to each file. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom.
Every page of each file is shown below the list. Tap a page you don't want, such as a cover or a table of contents, to leave it out.
Click Merge PDFs. The files are joined on your device, usually in a second or two.
Download the merged PDF.
Why merge PDFs?
Applications, claims and online portals often take a single file: a CV with its cover letter and certificates, a tax return with its receipts, or every page of a scanned contract. Merging turns a folder of PDFs into one upload.
One document is also easier to read, print and archive than a handful of attachments, and it keeps the pages in the order you intended.
Most online PDF mergers upload your documents to their server. Here the merge runs in your browser, which matters for IDs, bank statements and contracts.
What's kept when PDFs are merged
Every page is copied exactly: text, fonts, images, drawings and links. Nothing is re-compressed, so the quality doesn't change and the merged file is about as big as its parts combined. Pages of different sizes keep their own size.
Bookmarks (the outline in a PDF viewer's sidebar) aren't carried over. Neither are fillable form fields: anything already typed into them still shows on the page, but it may no longer be editable.
Is it safe?
Yes. Merge PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read and converted by your own device using built-in browser technology, so they are never uploaded to a server and nobody else can see them.
You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and convert a file. No upload requests are made.
The PDFs are read and joined on your device with pdf-lib, an open-source PDF library. They're never uploaded, and nothing inside them is run.
Files stay in this tab's memory only until you remove them or close the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 500 files, each up to 1 GB. Every page of each file is included.
How do I change the order?
Use the up and down arrows next to each file before merging. The merged PDF follows the order of the list.
Does merging reduce the quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-compressing images or turning text into pictures, so the result looks exactly like the originals.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. That includes PDFs that open without a password but restrict printing or editing. Remove the protection in your PDF app, or print the file to a new PDF, and merge that copy.
Can I merge only some pages of a PDF?
Yes. Each file's pages are shown as previews: tap the ones to leave out, or drag across several at once. The rest are merged in order.
Can I add photos or scans to the merged PDF?
Turn them into a PDF first with JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF, then merge that PDF with the others.
