Terms of Use

PocketConvert is a free file converter run by Zafer Ayan. By using it you agree to these terms. They're short, and written to be read.

Your files stay yours

You keep every right to the files you convert and to the results. We don't claim any ownership or licence over them. Most tools never send your files anywhere; the few that use our server delete them right after converting. The privacy policy explains exactly how.

What you agree to

  • Only convert files you have the right to use.
  • Don't use the service for anything illegal, or to process content that is illegal where you live.
  • Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, including sending automated or bulk requests to our conversion server.
  • Don't upload malware or files built to attack the software that converts them.

We may block access from anyone who breaks these rules, to keep the service fast and available for everyone else.

Limits

The free service converts up to 25 files at a time. Files can be up to 50 MB for images, 100 MB for PDFs, 500 MB for audio, 1 GB for video and 50 MB for Office documents. Conversions on our server are also rate limited. We may change these limits, add paid plans with higher ones, or change or retire tools.

Provided as is

We work hard to make conversions accurate, but every format converts differently and some details can change or be lost, especially with complex documents. The service is provided “as is”, without any warranty. Check important results before relying on them, and keep your original files.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage from using the service, including lost or damaged files, lost data or lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by agreement.

Open-source software

PocketConvert is built with open-source software, including pdf.js, pdf-lib, libheif, libwebp, Mediabunny, LibreOffice and pdf2docx. Each remains under its own licence. The source code of our PDF to Word service, which uses the AGPL-licensed PyMuPDF, is available from the service itself.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
